OUR January 2007 MELON PATCH PRODUCTION was ...

$1610 profit (after expenses) was sent to FFWC Headquarters for the 2006-2008 President's Project, Scholarships for young cancer survivors

Recent Events
 
HABITAT SUPER 600 Campaign ...
a program where 600 individuals (or businesses/organizations) commit to $25 per month for 3 years, totaling $900.  The $500,000 raised will help Habitat toward their goal of building their 100th house in Lake County.  It is now in the planning stage.
 
Habitat completed construction on home #91 in Tavares and home #92 in Leesburg in 2005.
 
Thirteen (13) CFWC members made the commitment to donate $25 per year for 3 years ($75 ea) so that CFWC could become a SUPER 600 Partner.
 
In addition, three members (and two spouses) have made an individual commitment to the SUPER 600 campaign.

Working the FOOD CONCESSION at Leesburg Mardi Gras (2/07) and Art Festival (3/07)
 
Each of these endeavors raised about $700
profit for the club.
 
Maintaining PARKING LOT for BIKES (and autos) during Leesburg Bike Fest weekend  (4/07 and 4/08)
       Bike parking raised over $1000 and $1100 profit
       for club charities.

WE ARE PROUD OF WHAT CFWC MEMBERS DO FOR CHILDREN ...

--  Sewing for Operation Smile  ...   Two members made 7 dolls, 9 blankets, 23 bags and 47 robes; materials were donated by several members.

--  KIND NEWS Conservation Newspapers (25) for local schools ...   a monthly publication that fosters good character in children through rough articles and activities that emphasize environmental awareness, humane treatment of animals, and respect for natural habitats. 

This has been accomplished each of the last four years.  These do not come out of the club treasury, but rather are funded by member's individual donations.
